Every week we speak to business owners in Bangkok who have already spent money on a website that does not work. They paid a freelancer ฿15,000 and got a template. They paid a cheap agency ฿40,000 and got something that looks fine but loads slowly, ranks nowhere and breaks when they try to update it. Then they contact us. So let’s answer the question properly.
What a Website actually costs in Thailand in 2026
There is no fixed price. Anyone who gives you a number without asking about your business, your content, your integrations and your goals is quoting you blind. That said, there are real price bands in the Thai market and you should know what sits in each one.
฿5,000 – ฿25,000: You are in freelancer or DIY territory. At this range you get a template site, usually WordPress with a pre-bought theme, basic pages and a contact form. It will exist online. It will not rank, it will not convert well and it will likely need to be rebuilt within 18 months. Fine for a temporary placeholder or a personal blog. Not appropriate for a business that needs to grow.
฿25,000 – ฿80,000: Most of the Bangkok market sits here. You can get a decent-looking site from a small agency or experienced freelancer. The difference in quality within this range is enormous. At the bottom you are still getting templates with a customized logo and colors. At the top you might get a genuinely well-structured site with proper SEO foundations, clean code and a content management system you can actually use. Ask to see code, ask about page speed scores, ask who specifically is doing the work.
฿80,000 – ฿300,000: This is where a professional business website design starts. You are paying for a team which includes developers, designers and a project lead working to a defined scope with a timeline and a handover process. A properly built WordPress website with a custom theme, clean code, real performance optimization and an SEO structure lands somewhere in this range depending on complexity.
Custom web development: Frontend application, portals, ERP integrations, anything requiring a backend built specifically for your business. Also where serious ecommerce development sits. A properly built WooCommerce or Magento store that handles real traffic, real inventory and real payment flows is not a ฿40,000 job.
Why cheap Websites cost more in the long run
The hidden cost nobody talks about is the rebuild. A website built on a purchased theme with a stack of page builder plugins and poorly configured hosting will perform well for 6 to 12 months. Then the plugin conflicts start, the update breaks something, the Google rankings drop because the Core Web Vitals scores have deteriorated, and suddenly you are back at square one spending money again.
We have rebuilt dozens of sites for businesses who had already paid another agency once. The first site was ฿30,000. The rebuild was ฿150,000. Total spend: ฿180,000 and 18 months of lost Google visibility.
A website built properly the first time. Clean code, solid architecture, no dependency on bloated plugins costs more upfront and costs far less over three years.

What actually drives the Price
Complexity of functionality: A five-page corporate site is not the same project as an ecommerce store with 500 SKUs, multiple payment gateways and a warehouse sync. WooCommerce, Shopify and Magento builds all have different cost profiles based on catalog size, payment integration complexity and what customization is needed beyond the platform’s defaults.
Custom design vs template: If your site needs to look like your brand and not like a WordPress theme someone else is also using, that requires a designer building something from scratch. That takes time and it costs money. Templates are faster. They also look like templates.
Who is actually doing the work: A Bangkok agency quoting ฿40,000 for a full website is either outsourcing to cheaper labor, using templates, or both. In-house development by experienced engineers costs more than offshore freelancers. The difference shows up in the code quality, the performance, and what happens when something breaks after launch.
Hosting & maintenance: A website is not a one-time project. Website support and maintenance, updates, security patches, backups, performance monitoring is an ongoing cost that most cheap agency quotes do not include. Neither does managed cloud hosting. Budget for it separately if your quote does not cover it, because you will need it.
Freelancer, Agency or In-House: What to choose in Thailand
Freelancer: The cheapest option and the highest-variance one. Some Bangkok-based freelancers are genuinely skilled and deliver clean work. Most are not. You are betting on one person’s availability, technical range and reliability. If they disappear after launch, you have no support. If your project needs a designer and a developer and an SEO specialist, a solo freelancer cannot cover all three properly.
Template agency: The most common offering in Thailand. They have a process, they will deliver on time, the site will look acceptable. The code underneath is usually a purchased theme with customization applied on top. Fine for basic business cards online. Not fine if you want your site to rank, convert or scale.
Custom development agency: More expensive upfront, significantly better outcome. A proper agency builds to a scope, employs the people doing the work full-time, and takes accountability for the result. You should be able to speak directly to the developers, not just an account manager. Ask who writes the code. Ask where they are based. Ask to see PageSpeed scores on live sites they have built.

What we charge and why
We do not publish package prices because every project is different and package pricing usually means cutting corners to fit a budget. What we do is scope every project based on your actual requirements, give you a fixed price before we start, and build it in-house by our team here in Bangkok.
A custom WordPress website from us can start anywhere from ฿65,000 and ฿250,000 depending on scope. An ecommerce store ranges from ฿100,000 to ฿500,000 depending on platform, catalog size and integrations. A custom web application or platform starts at ฿150,000.
Those numbers might be higher from most Bangkok agencies. The difference is that we do not use templates, we do not outsource, and we do not disappear after launch. You get code that is yours, a site that performs and a team you can contact when something needs to change.
Before you sign anything
Ask every agency or freelancer quoting you the following:
- Who specifically is writing the code and are they employed by you full-time?
- Can I see the Page Speed Insights scores for three sites you have built in the last 12 months?
- What happens to my site and data if I stop working with you?
- Is the CMS and theme custom-built or a purchased template?
- What is included in the quote and what will cost extra?
The answers will tell you more than the price will.
If you want a straight conversation about what your project should cost and what it will take to build it properly, contact our team in Bangkok. We will tell you exactly what we would build, how long it would take and what it would cost before you commit to anything.
